VAMO showcases multiple lifecycles of natural materials. A virgin hemp rope tensile network and upcycled wooden hoops are interlaced to create a flexible bell-shaped structure clad in bio-based materials. The main contribution on my side was on the upcycling of the non-structural wooden boards into structural ring segments and the fabrication of the joinery with a CNC.
This collaboration of the MIT, ETH Zürich, Anku and MITdesign X ventures was exhibited at the Venice architecture Biennale 2025.
